Grounded in Research and Integrity
Dr Anne Suse Smith is a strategic researcher and advisor with over two decades of experience spanning environmental policy, senior research leadership, and community engagement across government, academia, and industry. Her PhD explored resilience, wellbeing, and capacity-building in crisis-impacted communities, with a focus on an eight-year drought in regional Australia. The model developed through this research was later applied to support individuals experiencing extreme isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic in South Australia.
Anne has held senior research fellow positions on both national and international projects and served as Chair of the Bowen–Burdekin Local Marine Advisory Committee for the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. Working at the intersection of environmental strategy and social impact, she supports policy development, infrastructure planning, and strategic advocacy. She applies advanced data and AI tools to enhance insight and guide practical, evidence-based responses. Anne is known for her collaborative leadership, clear communication, and commitment to aligning environmental sustainability with long-term social and economic outcomes.
